Basketball Recap: Brockway Takes a Loss

Brockway was the 39-29 winner over DuBois when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Brockway Rovers fell 47-38 to the DuBois Beavers on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Brockway still got an impressive performance from Sophia Schmader, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalina Powell, who posted eight points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Brockway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Brockway has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for DuBois, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7.

Brockway will take on Johnsonburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DuBois, they will square off against Bradford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
