Softball Recap: Ralston Find Success

Ralston had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gross Catholic Cougars on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Makenzie Macrander was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Macrander was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tatum Farrell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Coincidentally, Ralston and Gross Catholic will both be playing Waverly the next time they take the field. The Rams will head out to face the Vikings at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
