Basketball Recap: Lick-Wilmerding Piles Up the Points Against Urban

A well-balanced attack led Lick-Wilmerding over Urban in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers blew the Urban Blues out of the water with a 65-30 final score. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Lick-Wilmerding's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaelyn Villavicencio, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 13 points. Villavicencio is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Lauryn Lacap was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Lick-Wilmerding is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Urban, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.

Lick-Wilmerding will head out to square off against Convent of the Sacred Heart at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Urban, they will challenge Marin Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
