Basketball Recap: Valhalla Comes Up Short

If Valhalla was riding high fresh off their 50-20 takedown of Mount Miguel last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valhalla Norsemen were outmatched by the El Cajon Valley Braves and fell 77-34. The Norsemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.

Several Norsemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilly Dallo, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanel akka, who scored 11 points.

Asia Marie Dixon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for El Cajon Valley, dropping a double-double with 35 points and 14 boards. Dixon has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 16 times she's played. McKinley Morgan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Valhalla's record is now 3-16. As for El Cajon Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9.

Valhalla has already played their next contest, a 66-36 loss against West Hills on the 11th. As for El Cajon Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-22 victory against Monte Vista on the 11th.
