Baseball Recap: Towns County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lakeview Academy on Monday, Towns County came back down to earth. The Indians fell 8-3 to the Hayesville Yellowjackets on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Towns County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season. As for Hayesville, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Towns County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hayesville, they will square off against Hiwassee Dam at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.27 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
