Montrose lost to Durango back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Red Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Demons a 10-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Red Hawks have won by exactly ten runs.

Bentley Schiller made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Schiller was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Isabelle Mott was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaytli Cannizzo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Montrose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Montrose's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Durango, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Montrose will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Demons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
