Baseball Recap: East Windsor Takes a Loss

East Windsor fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bolton on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 10-9. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Elias Jacobs put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Jacobs was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of East Windsor's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't).

East Windsor's record now sits at 6-11. As for Bolton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

East Windsor will challenge Suffield at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bolton, they will take on Hale Ray at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
