Baseball Recap: Logansport Comes Up Short

Logansport came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights. The Berries were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Logansport got a good showing from Kolten Hudson, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Hudson gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Logansport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Chapman, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Parker Hayden also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Logansport moved to 17-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Logansport will take on Peru at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will challenge Hamilton Heights at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
