Recap: Capistrano Valley Cougars vs. Dana Hills Dolphins
The Capistrano Valley Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-11 loss at the hands of Dana Hills. Capistrano Valley has struggled against Dana Hills recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Kayla Rice was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with nine rebounds and four steals for Dana Hills. Rice is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Akason, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Capistrano Valley bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Dana Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Capistrano Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mission Viejo at 7:00 p.m. As for Dana Hills, they will head out on the road to take on El Toro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. El Toro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Dana Hills is ranked 97th).
