Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Comes Up Short

Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 77-41 loss at the hands of the St. Mary's Cardinals. The Bees were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-17.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keldon Loecker, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Loecker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Beau Eisenhauer, who earned ten points.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for St. Mary's, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Bloomfield and St. Mary's could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Bloomfield (ranked 256th) will meet Plainview (ranked 83rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Mary's will square off against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 58 places (85 vs. 27).
