Softball Recap: Mt. Zion Bulldogs vs. Luella Lions

Mt. Zion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 24-8 to the Luella Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-5 on September 2nd.

Mt. Zion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cristalina Kadree- Small, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Kadree- Small is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another was Taylor Smith, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Mt. Zion now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Luella, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Mt. Zion will face off against Morrow at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.19 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Luella does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
