Meanwhile, Rootstown unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor Champion could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Rootstown have been dealt a draw since back in September.

Their goal came courtesy of Melvin Acosta, who's now up to four this season.

Central Christian's win bumped their record up to 15-2-3. Rootstown's draw makes their record 14-4-2 this season.

Central Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Rootstown in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
