Softball Recap: Wahoo Takes a Loss

If Wahoo was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Malcolm on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Freeman Falcons by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 6-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Addison Smart was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wesely, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Wahoo's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Freeman, they pushed their record up to 18-11 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Wahoo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 defeat against Grand Island Central Catholic on the 29th. As for Freeman, they will be playing at home against Raymond Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
