Basketball Game Preview: Los Alamitos Griffins vs. Lakewood Lancers

The Los Alamitos Griffins and the Lakewood Lancers will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Los Alamitos will be strutting in after a win while Lakewood will be coming in after a loss.

Los Alamitos' tournament run continued when they took on Cerritos last Saturday. Los Alamitos snuck past Cerritos with a 48-44 victory. Given the Griffins' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Dons are ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lakewood unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Long Beach Poly 58-54.

Lakewood's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Los Alamitos, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
