Mt. Carmel lost a heartbreaker the last time they played El Capitan, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Sundevils blew past the Vaqueros 75-47 on Thursday. The Sundevils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, El Capitan had strong showings from Chance Smith, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points and six boards, and Trevin Curo, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Curo is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Trystan Billinger was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory snapped Mt. Carmel's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for El Capitan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Helix at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for El Capitan, they will take on Poway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
