Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Comes Up Short

Grosse Pointe South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rochester Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-12 on Saturday.

Grosse Pointe South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Young, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Young has brought in this season.

Grosse Pointe South's loss dropped their record down to 21-16. As for Rochester, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-22-1 record this season.

Grosse Pointe South is taking a road trip to take on Dakota at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rochester, they will host Detroit Country Day at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
