Softball Recap: ThunderRidge Find Success

After losing to Regis Jesuit the last time they met, ThunderRidge decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Grizzlies walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Raiders on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Haley Ortega spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Aubrey Conant was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Ava Lynch was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: ThunderRidge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

ThunderRidge's record now sits at 4-8. As for Regis Jesuit, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. ThunderRidge will challenge rival Castle View at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit is set to take on their familiar foe Mountain Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
