Baseball Recap: Mundy's Mill Takes a Loss

Mundy's Mill extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-18 in the process. They came up short against the Griffin Bears, falling 9-2. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Tigers, who fell 5-3 when the teams last met back in April of 2018.

As for Griffin, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-16. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 19th (when they won 12-5).

For Griffin's part, they got a great performance from Tyson Lopez as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, Lopez posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Jymarion Street was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Brock, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

While Mundy's Mill had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
