Basketball Recap: Oil City Comes Up Short

Oil City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 45-31 fall against the Franklin Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Oilers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-17 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Katie Boal, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds for Franklin. Boal is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Blum, who posted seven points.

Oil City's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Franklin, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oil City will welcome Titusville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meadville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
