Basketball Recap: Carondelet Cougars vs. California Grizzlies
The Carondelet Cougars won the last time they faced the California Grizzlies, and things went their way on Friday too. Carondelet strolled past the Grizzlies with points to spare, taking the game 47-31.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylee Lawson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Sofie Addiego was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Carondelet's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for California, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-4.
Carondelet won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Christian Brothers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Cougars are ranked 17th). California does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
