Softball Recap: Providence Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Providence Christian Academy dropped down to 17-14 on Thursday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 11-8 to the Hebron Christian Lions. The Storm were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Hebron Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Hebron Christian's part, Kate Kennedy tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Kennedy has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Juls Huber, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Raysor, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Providence Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hebron Christian, they will take on Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.2, the Wolves 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
