Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Patriots vs. Tulare Western Mustangs

Hoover is 0-3 against Tulare Western since December of 2014 but things could change on Friday. The Hoover Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Tulare Western Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hoover comes in on four and Tulare Western on three.

Last Tuesday, Hoover earned a 50-41 win over Torres.

Meanwhile, Tulare Western beat Tulare Union 43-33 on Tuesday.

Hoover better keep an eye on Regina Toscano. She was instrumental in Tulare Western's win, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Toscano has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Annette Lopez, who posted eight points and three steals.

Hoover pushed their record up to 16-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Tulare Western, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.

Hoover came up short against Tulare Western in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, falling 46-36. Thankfully for Hoover, Chandrai Johnson (who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
