Baseball Recap: Fairfield Find Success

Fairfield let New Haven stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Tuesday but luckily Fairfield prevailed anyway. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 6-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2022.

Drew Beachy was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Kyler Castetter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fairfield's record now sits at 12-15. As for New Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Fairfield will face off against Wawasee at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for New Haven, they will take on Norwell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
