Basketball Game Preview: Slippery Rock Rockets vs. Grove City Eagles

The Slippery Rock Rockets are taking a road trip to square off against the Grove City Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Slippery Rock is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Slippery Rock is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Hickory: they outscored them in every quarter. Slippery Rock was the clear victor by a 64-38 margin over Hickory on Thursday. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Grove City lost to Karns City on the road by a 56-39 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Gremlins are ranked 80th).

Grove City now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Slippery Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Slippery Rock didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Grove City when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slippery Rock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
