Basketball Recap: Yreka Comes Up Short

After flying high against Central Valley last Saturday, Yreka came back down to earth. The Yreka Miners took a hard 70-54 fall against the University Prep Panthers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while the Panthers are ranked 52nd).

Yreka's defeat dropped their record down to 9-10. As for University Prep, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Yreka is taking a road trip to face off against West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for University Prep, they will square off against Lassen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
