Northwest is a perfect 9-0 against West since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaylen Mason, who threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 97 yards. Augie Fast was another key rusher, rushing for 84 yards and two scores.
Meanwhile, West and East faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. The Pioneers had to suffer through a 57-0 loss at the hands of the Aces. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Aces recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
West's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Northwest, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Everything came up roses for Northwest against West when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
