Soccer Recap: Columbus' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

Columbus's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Jordan Red Jackets by a score of 3-1. Given Columbus' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Jordan are ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Columbus pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Jordan, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will face off against Kendrick at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Columbus will be up against Kendrick's rather soft defense (which has allowed nine goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Jordan, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on April 7. Jordan's defense better be ready for this one: Central has averaged an impressive 2.7 goals per game this season.
