Basketball Recap: Reynolds Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Reynolds had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 61-43 win over the Union Knights/Damsels on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Maddy Dehart, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. That was a full 53.5% of Union's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ella Myers, who earned four points and ten boards.

Reynolds' victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Union, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Reynolds and Union could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Reynolds (ranked 613th) will meet Kennedy Catholic (ranked 92nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Reynolds is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Union will square off against Cranberry Area at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 452 places (651 vs. 199).
