Football Recap: Scott Takes a Loss

Scott and Clay Center squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Scott had to settle for second. They took a hard 47-29 fall against the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Beavers of the 28-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clay Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eisaac Girton, who rushed for 126 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Girton is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 5-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Drew Hoffman, who rushed for 68 yards and three scores.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Clay Center, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Scott does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clay Center, they will face off against Andale on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
