Torrey Pines has gone 3-0 against Rancho Buena Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Torrey Pines Falcons will square off against the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. Torrey Pines is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.

Torrey Pines is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing La Costa Canyon: they outscored them in every quarter. Torrey Pines put the hurt on La Costa Canyon with a sharp 50-25 win on Friday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Mavericks are ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Torrey Pines got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Oliva out in front who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Charley Pegg, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Torrey Pines smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Rancho Buena Vista's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 69-51 bruising from King.

Torrey Pines is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Rancho Buena Vista, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Torrey Pines took their win against Rancho Buena Vista when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 67-45. Will Torrey Pines repeat their success, or does Rancho Buena Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
