Soccer Recap: Sanger Comes Up Short

Sanger was the 1-0 winner over Bullard when they last played one another on January 13th, but their luck changed this time around. The Apaches fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Sanger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Bullard are ranked 100th).

Sanger's goal came courtesy of Emma Escobar, who's now up to two this season.

Sanger is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13-4. As for Bullard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sanger and Bullard will both be playing Justin Garza the next time they take the pitch. The Knights will head out to face the Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Apaches will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
