Football Recap: Sacred Heart Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Plainville, Sacred Heart was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Pleasanton Blu-Jays with a sharp 29-7 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Elias Gordon went supernova, rushing for 194 yards and two scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 194 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Sacred Heart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maddox Wells and Noah Hines.

Sacred Heart's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pleasanton, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart will host Valley Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasanton, they will welcome St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
