Football Recap: Southside Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Southside extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They took a blow against the East Carteret Mariners, falling 49-13. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 22, 2021, but that streak is no more.

As for East Carteret, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 27.5 points per game.

Luke McIntosh had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 117 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Southside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-6 win against Jones on the 10th. As for East Carteret, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 49-12 victory against Lejeune on the 10th.
