Baseball Recap: Atkinson County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Brooks County on Friday, Atkinson County came back down to earth. The Rebels came up short against the Lanier County Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 7-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in February.

Atkinson County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lanier County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Atkinson County will take on rival Charlton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lanier County is set to square off against their familiar foe Turner County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
