Baseball Recap: Poland Gets the Win

Poland took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Greely, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rangers 5-3.

The team relied heavily on Shawn West, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Mains, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Poland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Greely, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
