Softball Game Preview: New Covenant Academy Warriors vs. Logan-Rogersville Wildcats

The New Covenant Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Logan-Rogersville Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. New Covenant Academy will be strutting in after a win while Logan-Rogersville will be coming in after a loss.

New Covenant Academy came out on top against Stoutland on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Warriors blew past the Tigers 12-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Logan-Rogersville came up short against Marshfield on Tuesday and fell 6-3. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Logan-Rogersville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Filak, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was Filak's first of the season.

New Covenant Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Logan-Rogersville, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything went New Covenant Academy's way against Logan-Rogersville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as New Covenant Academy made off with a 17-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
