Soccer Recap: Malibu Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Malibu hadn't done well against Santa Paula recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Malibu Sharks' defense stepped up to hand the Santa Paula Cardinals a 1-0 shutout. Jessa Kletter had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Sharks.

Malibu has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Santa Paula, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Malibu is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Carpinteria at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Malibu's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Santa Paula has already played their next contest (against Malibu), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
