Baseball Game Preview: Geneva Vikings vs. Wheaton North Falcons

For the second straight game, Geneva will face off against Wheaton North. The Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Geneva is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Geneva is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Wheaton North just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Geneva got a good showing from Matthew Martija, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Martija hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

At the plate, Nick Torrence was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Nelson Wendell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Geneva's loss dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Wheaton North, their win bumped their record up to 13-17.
