While Riverdale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 39-17 margin over the Alpaugh Buffalos on Monday. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Karen Ayala, who posted 14 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Riverdale's points. Alyssa Valdez was another key player, putting up six points.

Riverdale pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Alpaugh, Tranquillity, and Tranquillity. As for Alpaugh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Riverdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-40 loss against Granite Hills on the 10th. Alpaugh has also already played their next matchup, a 47-40 defeat against Tranquillity on the 16th.
