Basketball Recap: Quartz Hill Has No Trouble Against South El Monte

Quartz Hill saw some tournament action on Saturday. They blew past the South El Monte Eagles 71-46. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Ty'Jahwuan Jackson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double with 23 points, 21 boards, and ten assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 38 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Chism, who went 10-for-17 en route to 22 points and eight boards.

Quartz Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 24 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Quartz Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for South El Monte, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Quartz Hill will be taking part in a tournament against Etiwanda at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for South El Monte, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Bell Gardens at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
