Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Unity Christian last Friday, Covenant Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Rams fell 14-9 to the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints on Monday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Saints earlier this season, when they won 13-5.

Asher Bond was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Bond was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Garrison Barton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Covenant Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

Coming up, Covenant Christian Academy will host Pinecrest Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Cherokee Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
