Soccer Game Preview: Madeira vs. Taylor

The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will face off against the Taylor Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madeira's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Saturday, Madeira and Kings finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Taylor waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Knights. The victory was all the more spectacular given Taylor's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Northwest are ranked 101st).

Cooper Faust and Nick Ream scored both of Taylor's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 7-5-1. Madeira's draw gives them a new season record of 9-3-3.

Madeira came out on top in a nail-biter against Taylor when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
