Baseball Game Recap: Central Crossing Comets vs. Bishop Ready Silver Knights

Central Crossing had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-22 to make it six. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 28th.

As for Bishop Ready, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-15. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Bishop Ready's part, Alex Hickey was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave Hickey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Mutnich, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Crossing will square off against Franklin Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Bishop Ready, they will be taking part in a tournament against Marion-Franklin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
