Soccer Game Preview: Amador Valley vs. Monte Vista

The Amador Valley Dons will head out on the road to face off against the Monte Vista Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Amador Valley headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Dublin let them put that streak behind them. Everything went Amador Valley's way against Dublin on Tuesday as Amador Valley made off with a 4-1 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Amador Valley hit Dublin with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alden Hofstede (2), Addison Montoya, and Hailey Morec.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Monte Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Dougherty Valley a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by three goals or more this season.

Amador Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Monte Vista, the win got them back to even at 3-3-3.

Amador Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Monte Vista when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amador Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
