Baseball Recap: Goode STEM Academy Comes Up Short

Goode STEM Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-6 to make it four. They lost 13-2 to the Hancock Eagles. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Hancock, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-9-1. Considering they have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hancock's part, Laith Ahmad looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ahmad has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan Ostrowski was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Hancock's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-1-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Emiliano Leon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goode STEM Academy will welcome Hubbard at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hancock, they will face off against Holy Trinity at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
