Orange Lutheran had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They managed a 61-57 victory over the Esperanza Aztecs. This was payback for the Lancers, who suffered a 55-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Kame, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alexa Muller, who scored eight points in addition to 11 boards and four steals.

Orange Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Esperanza, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Orange Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-40 defeat against Bonita on the 10th. As for Esperanza, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-19 victory against Monrovia on the 10th.
