Recap: Sayre Redskins vs. Wyalusing Valley Rams
This season hasn't been kind to the Sayre Redskins, who are still winless after their 18th game. They were beaten by Wyalusing Valley 61-21 on Monday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sayre in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost five in a row.
Sayre's loss came despite strong showings from Abbie McGaughey and Meghan Flynn. McGaughey scored eight points along with seven rebounds, while Flynn scored eight points along with two steals.
Sayre's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Wyalusing Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
Sayre will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Wyalusing Valley, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully Sayre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday.
