Monroe is 6-1 against Mitchell County since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Golden Tornadoes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Monroe's hitters haven't had much luck over their past six contests, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monroe fell victim to Cairo and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Syrupmakers, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Mitchell County lost 16-6 to Randolph-Clay on Friday. The Eagles have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mitchell County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maurice Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Williams has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Cedarian Swann, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Mitchell County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Monroe has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mitchell County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Monroe's way against Mitchell County in their previous meeting back in February, as Monroe made off with a 29-4 victory. Will the Golden Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
