Softball Recap: Marshalltown Takes a Loss

Marshalltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 9-1 to the Ames Little Cyclones. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Little Cyclones this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-0 defeat on June 2nd.

Marshalltown's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Ames, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ames beat Marshalltown by a score of 7-4 later that day.
