Basketball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

If Highlands was riding high fresh off their 51-25 takedown of Derry last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlands Golden Rams were dealt a 60-32 loss at the hands of the North Catholic Trojans on Thursday. The Golden Rams have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Highlands' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyarah Woody, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards, and Bella Bonnett, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 56.3% of Highlands' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for North Catholic, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Highlands will head out to challenge Freeport at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Catholic, they will be playing at home against Knoch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
